Why Would A Company Need a Certificate of Good Standing?
A Certificate of Good Standing is an official document used to prove that a limited company was set up legally and is being run properly and continuously since it was incorporated. Its also known as a ‘Certificate of Authorisation’ or a ‘Certificate of Existence’.
The certificate is obtained from Companies House and proves that no action is currently being taken against the company that would remove it from the Companies House register.
Not every company can receive a Certificate of Good Standing; there are requirements that the company must meet.

Once Companies House has issued you with a Certificate of Good Standing it is valid for 3 months from the date shown on the document. If you should require another one after that period, you will need to apply again.
